I did various searches to get the best quote for a parcel from London to Sierra Leone. The cheapest I could find was £385. Parcel Monkey was suggested and they gave me a price of £90 with a delivery of 5 days. I decided to give it a go due to price alone. It was only after I booked I checked various reviews and saw just how many negative ones there were about parcels never making it and lack of customer service so I started to panic a bit.
However the parcel was collected on time by Parcelforce who gave me their tracking number. I followed it with them online to a holding base in Colnbrook Slough. I then lost track of it and there was nothing on the Parcel Monkey website. So I did live chat which is clearly not live but I got a response within an hour giving me the tracking number with DHL who were taking it from Slough to me here in Africa. I have then followed my parcel through West Africa to finally arriving here in one piece and within 7 days of leaving London.
However to date there is still no update other than collection scheduled from 12/01/17 on the parcel monkey website.
Overall I will use this company again at a saving of £300 with only a little digging on my part it was well worth it. I would point out though that it was parcel force and DHL that did the delivery and had things gone wrong it was down to them not parcel monkey, and both these companies quoted far in excess of what PM secured it for so thank you.

Two pallets of goods were booked for collection and were described as being on pallets. The DX driver phoned on the day of collection to say he couldnt collect as he they were on pallets. The information had not been passed to DX, they say.

I am very sorry to hear about this issue with the collection, should a problem arise such as this please let us know so we can contact the courier to resolve this. When they accept the booking they can see the weight and dimensions and if it is palletised they can see this information also, apologies for the inconvenience caused on this occasion.

Thai is the first time I used parcel monkey. I am a British Irving in NZ and needEd some items sent over. Item was collected as promised and delivered within 4 days (deadline was 5 days). No damage to parcel either and the tracking system worked good

Product had originally shipped intact from China but was damaged between UK and Finland. Used exactly the same packaging material. Tracking and contact with company fine up to now.

THEY TAKE ALL THE DETAILS BEFORE WE SEND PARCELS BUT ONCE ITS GONE AFTER FEW DAYS THEN THEY SEND A EMAIL THAT THE VOLUME WEIGHT IS HIGHER AND CHARGE MORE, I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THEM. WHEN WE HAVE PUT THE CORRECT DETAILS (SIZE) THAT TIME WHY DONT YOU CHARGE US CORRECTLY . YOU GIVE US LESS PRICE TO DO THE DEAL AND ONCE WE ARE IN AND HAD SIGN YOUR TERM AND CONDITION YOU DO THIS BACK STABBING, IT HAS DONE TWICE WITH US....DONT USE THEM

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review, addtional charges come from the courier when items are not declared correctly by the sender. The couriers will weight and measure the items you have sent and if you have declared them as less than they actually are then a charge is raised as you are using additional space in their network. We pass this charge on from the courier as it is the senders responsibility to ensure correct and accurate measurements are provided.

Easy to book through the website and the prices on there were cheaper than the direct websites for me - at least for Parcel Force. I found the initial prices to be slightly miss-leading, especially as soon as you start adding in sizes, prices increase. Email communication was good. One frustrating thing was not know the colleciton times of the parcel as I needed it to be before 5pm due to collection from Work. Overall I would recommend using Parcel Monkey.

I was unable to weigh the parcel I was returning as it was so large and did not have any industrial scales. I took a guess at 30kg. A couple of weeks after the parcel had been sent I received an email saying they were charging me an additional £58 as my parcel actually weighed 31.6 kg. That is a very hefty excess for an additional 1.6kg. I used Parcel Monkey as a trial as I usually use another courier and wanted to try somewhere new. Needless to say I have gone back to another courier.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review, any additional charges come back from the carrier and are passed on to the sender as it is the sender responsibility to declare the weight correctly, so this is why you will of been additionally charged by the carrier.

Cheap, easy and fast
Price quoted was significantly cheaper than other companies, and purchasing said service was extremely easy and took no time at all. Parcel arrived quickly as expected.
Would highly recommend to anyone shipping overseas

I booked 24hr delivery and it did not arrive . I found contacting anyone to find out what was going on or why it was late totally useless. The parcel arrived the next day but too late for the recipient .

Delivery address I input into the system did not fully transfer on to the printed address label. Had to correct address label by hand at Parcel Monkey "Live Chat" suggestion. Not very professional. I have also had problems with a previous parcel in which part of the address, crucially the name of the street, did not get picked up by the system and caused a 3 week delivery delay. I was giving Parcel Monkey one last chance to redeem themselves.

I am giving them three stars, but it may much less depending on my order. PBK says they shipped my order over two weeks ago. Parcel Monkey (Trakpac) has not changed its tracking notice since that time, saying it is "Routed to Destination". Someone is going to get a scathing review on this because, someone in this ridiculous chain of delivery is totally inept or lying. If the order ever arrives, I should be able to determine the offending party.

Parcel Monkey enables me to decide on which service I need, and then the process is very simple. Very good service and much cheaper than the post office.

The pick up was pretty late so i was getting worried, but the service desk assured me that it should still happen even if they couldnt track the actual courier. Parcel arrived safely with no damages.
One point to watch is that (I had a full suitcase shipped) they have to stick shipping labels on the item - i forgot about that, so now I have to remove the very sticky and not so removable labels. Best to wrap anything that you are shipping probably.

ParcelMonkey will accept your order, youll pay. Youll pay less to them than to serious operators, but its worth paying more, trust me. When you have a problem, this is their standard answer: "We will look into this with the courier involved. We are not the courier, we are a marketplace and the couriers plug their services into our platform so we will need to investigate this for you with them. Apologies for the inconvenience caused" Just too bad, too unprofessional, too dishonest to be true.

Having used Parcelmonkey for over 2 years, our account was put on hold without reason, we have been waiting to hear why this has been the case now for over a month and the same reply given that it has been forwarded to a different department. Incompetent support, will now be using another courier.
