Do you need to send a parcel to the Caribbean?
The Caribbean islands are one of the more remote locations to send a parcel to and due to the lack of direct flights to many of the islands, prices to ship there will typically be more expensive than sending a parcel to the US or Mexico, despite these destinations being relatively nearby.
You will need to complete a customs declaration when you send a parcel to the Caribbean, detailing the items you’re sending, along with the value. When you book with Parcel Monkey, this is all taken care of during the booking process. All you’ll need to do is print the completed customs form and attach it to your parcel.
Many countries in the region have restrictions on the items you can ship there and you will need to be aware of those before you send your parcel. A good place to find this information is on the customs and excise website for the country you’re shipping to.
Please also check our carrier prohibited items list, as these are items which are restricted or prohibited for transport by our courier partners.
DHL will ship to almost any destination and offers the fastest transit times via its Air Express service, while Parcelforce offers services to the more major destinations such as Barbados.
However, if you’re on a budget, the cheapest way to send a parcel to the Caribbean is via our Parcel Monkey Air Express service. This hybrid service uses Parcelforce to collect your parcel in the UK and transport it to a freight forwarder at Heathrow. It’s then shipped overseas, usually with DHL. This means you can still enjoy express shipping to the Caribbean for a fraction of the cost, whilst only adding 1 or 2 days to the transit time.
