Parcelmonkey are cheap. Thats why I continue to use them. But its at my own risk. Couriers booked through Parcelmonkey have given terrible service- more than once I have been charged extra (money taken from my account before even being notified) for parcels being heavier than I stated. My items, including the packaging, are weighed and never come in at more than 200g. I state them to be 500g to be on the safe side. I have then been charged for a parcel weighing THREE KILOGRAMS and in protestation received NO help from Parcelmonkey at all. The box is 20cm x 20cm. But how can I prove that when they tell me its a big box weighing 3 kilos I have no way to prove it isnt. Ive also had parcels lost - parcels delayed. Parcelmonkey have this infuriating help system where you have to write a message and someone will reply. But they just then shove your case back in the system. No one actually GIVES A .... They just answer yes mrs that is correct and pass it on. Tick! Job done. So I would say use at your own risk. I havent found anywhere cheaper, but really you get what you pay for. Bad service. UPDATE: I got a reply from Parcelmonkey saying the overcharge was probably from volumetric weight, and there is no way to respond other than updating this. I didnt state in my original post that my parcels are also always posted as 25cm x 25cm x 17cm, when in fact they are 20x20x10 - to be on the SAFE SIDE. I also always book them as 500g despite them being under 200g. Despite all this I was charged for a parcel weighing 3000g. THREE KILOGRAMS. Explain to me how a parcel which was smaller VOLUMETRICALLY than I paid for and a lighter WEIGHT than I payed for is then charged for over 10 times the size???? I tried to explain this when the case actually happened, but all I got was bull responses from parvelmonkey. Including eventually a photograph of my parcel being processed to "prove it was alone on the scale" - no weight or size measurement visible in the photo. What I have consistently tried to explain to Parcelmonkey is that this parcel was not VOLUMETRICALLY OR PHYSICALLY three kilograms. It was smaller than stated, and lighter than stated, and I was massively overcharged. No effort was made to understand or rectify this, just patronising platitudes like the response here. AGAIN I REITERATE- USE PARCELMONKEY AT YOUR OWN RISK. They are cheap; but their "help" system is appalling and this leaves you vulnerable to overcharging, missed collections and lost parcels that you will have no way of rectifying.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review, the additional charges come direct from the courier and are not just based on the actual weight but the size of the parcels. Couriers use volumetric weight to price their services on, basically how much space is used in their network. If you item is larger than you declare they will raise a surcharge and we hand this on to the sender, as it is their responsibility to weigh and measure goods correctly. Please ensure you measure packages correctly in size not just weight to avoid these costs. The same would occur if you booked direct with the couriers we use, the discount comes due to the volumes of parcels we send, not because the service is any different.
I hope this helps you avoid future surcharges as it sounds like this is the only issue with the service and it will make life easier for you going forward

It was my first experience and a good one at that. The system was quick and easy to use. I got the cheapest price on this site. Item was collected same day and recipient confirmed receipt of item the following day... couldnt have asked for more.

I recently used this service for the first time and was under a huge time constraint.. I needed a parcel brought from the U.K. To Ireland for my daughters 18th birthday.. parcel monkey was recommended to me and I must say Im so glad. The website was simple and succinct to use. The price for delivery was fair (13kg for €16) and the delivery time was 2 working days.. I ordered the collection for a Friday and it was on my doorstep before 9:30am on the following Monday!! The courier was friendly polite and helpful. Very happy with this service and will use again!!

Collected on Monday. First delivered to wrong delivery centre. Then redirected to correct delivery centre. Driver couldnt deliver the next day, and then on the 4th day (Friday) it was delivered mid-afternoon. Absolutely appalling 48hr servicde - buyers should avoid ParcelMonkey. It gets worse. Receiver opened the box today and phoned to advise that the printers glass plate was smashed to smithereens. And the box marked fragile had a gaping hole in it. So I assume the courier must have dropped it out of his truck. I certainly wont be using or recommending ParcelMonkey again.

We offer protection cover at the time of booking to cover goods with, so if you have opted in for this please raise a support ticket so we can hand this over to our claims team. Apologies for the lack of a quick delivery, this is not something we can control however we strive to work with carriers who provide the best possible service and I am sorry to read of the issues you had. After 2 years in a row of Royal Mail having raided and stealing from one box of Christmas gifts and then losing/stealing another, we chose to use a courier.
This is the second time weve used this site and is easy to book, would be nice to have collection time slots though. Arrived as stated in booking (in one piece)

My parcels have still failed to reach my 3 customers and the orders have all been mixed up by the courier as he mixed up additional labels which he added despite mine saying the correct name and address!! Poor customer service and terrible service! I will never use or recommended again

i have had no tracking for my parcel. i have no still where my parcel is. the site is blank when i go into tracking. possibly a good service however i wouldnt know because my parcel is late and i have no idea where in the world it is.

I was very happy. Ive sent the parcell for my family for Christmas.
I sent it on Monday afternoon and my family got it on Friday.
It was quick.

After the most HORRIFIC and NASTY experience with that bunch of lying, lazy COWBOYS Myhermes, we had a parcel sit here for a fortnight that they never collected.
After signing up top parcel monkey, I choose a service, booked it and lo and behold. ..the parcel was collected the very next morning!

Ive used Parcel Monkey several times to send parcels abroad. I used them after a friend recommended them to me.
Ive had very good service from them. Only had to contact them once (when a label wouldnt print properly), but they sorted it out quickly with now fuss.
Id strongly recommend them.

My parcel was delivered to the incorrect destination. Parcel Monkey were unable to locate it and I had given it up as lost. By a stroke of huge luck, a gentleman at the place where it was incorrectly delivered emailed me with the location where it could be picked up along with full contact details etc. I provided this information to PM, they were delighted and assured me that they would pass on the info to the courier. 2 weeks later, no sign of my parcel so I emailed the kind gentleman to find the package was still awaiting collection! in the end I had to book a new courier to retrieve it. In their defence they did eventually refund me for the initial pickup at least. In conclusion, fine if everything goes well but it if doesnt youre on your own. Pay for the insurance and just claim off that instead of going through their worthless customer services.
