I could kick myself for using Parcel Monkey as their company name says it all, for just as you would not use a company called Financial Vultures or Woodworm Carpenters... you should certainly not use Parcel Monkey... thats unless you want your parcels managed by monkeys. I absolutely get the point Parcel Monkey are merely brokers & the fact my parcel went missing was down to Yodel (separate review to follow), although my gripe is that this company follow business tactics that I had assumed were abolished a fair few years ago. First of all they broadcast the Google-searched message of "Free cover for loss/damage" which it now transpires is not entirely true (only if you "opt in" & your parcel is valued under £20), secondly, if you are eligible for free delivery, as mentioned above, you have to opt in. Thirdly, the submission form is structured in such a way that could be taken as being misleading with vital pieces of information or selection criteria not being mandatory or in a position that is easily viewed. Finally, if anything goes wrong, you get the brush off. The Monkeys have had their money... so deal with the problem yourself. It could be argued that there is small print that should be read before you acknowledge the terms & conditions... although my counter-argument is that something so important as insurance should not be hidden away or placed in a position that does not flow with the rest of the submission criteria, especially when "free cover for loss/damage" is advertised. The obvious answer is that if you do "find" the insurance selection & realise you have to pay for cover on assets valued over £20, the cost of Parcel Monkeys service is equal to that of their competitors. In addition, going with a competitor will allow you a good opportunity in fighting your case if something goes wrong. Parcel Monkey just hangs around the top of the tree hoping you will eventually go away. In summary, you want a service like Parcel Monkey to be clear & concise & if the consequence means their total price is equal to that of the Royal Mail, then customers will opt for the company with the best service.... & this is why Parcel Monkey know they must be as ambiguous as possible... for customer service is not their forte... & this unfortunately hits people like you & I. Use at your own risk as Parcel Monkey are poor... very. very poor!

Save your effort - do not use Parcel Monkey. You pay peanuts you get monkeys. They will lose your parcels and then they will not compensate you for it. you will not be able to speak to anybody. when you live chat they lie and send you links to tracking parcels that are not yours in the hope that you will go away with false hope that your parcel is not completely lost. When you try to claim for it they make you wait 6 weeks and then finally come up with a list of non eligible items that includes almost everything you can imagine. They are liars and thieves - I would not use them again in a million years. Pay a little more and use someone reputable.

Parcels booked are regularly not collected on time / at all. I am currently waiting for the 4th day for a collection with Yodel booked through PM. Staff are very unhelpful, make no effort to pick up the phone and deal with any issues. Standard format template replies. Avoid.

The initial guess the weight and size was a bit hard because i was a buyer,it was only because my nephew reminded me about p m that i used you, so not very well known yet, maybe up to speed nxt time, thanks to the great guy who phoned me back,

I thought Parcel Monkey was a good site and they offered some good price comparisons. I did not choose the cheapest option but also wanted a speedy service. So in the end chose a two day type service, the courier went to the wrong address and left a card, luckily the same van was in the area a few hours later and I tracked them down and delivered the parcel to the courier! The parcel monkey tracking never worked for days and was still showing it needed collecting for most of the week. Finally I saw it was on route for delivery today but that never happened, I still wait to hear of the parcel arrival and hopefully in a safe condition. I am very disappointed in parcel monkey and tracking. I would have been better off going direct to be honest and I would have saved a day or so and possibly had better tracking details from the outset.

Parcel did not get picked up. Customer Service was incompetent, seems like they are in another time zone. Took over 6 weeks of emails going back and forth to receive a refund. Pay the extra with another company its not worth the hassle or the time dealing with these bunch of "Monkeys!"

Was really no problem with both pick-up and delivery. Picked up in the UK on Thursday late afternoon and delivered in Germany Monday morning.
What more can one expect.

Even though I wasnt sure when the driver will come to pick up the parcel, everything else couldnt be more satisfying. The webpage is pretty straight forward. Its so simple that Ive been wondering if I did something wrong. Even though I was shipping to an European Union country, I was still surprised how fast and cheap the service was. For students trying to ship their stuff back home after graduation, this company is the way to go.

I had to send urgent medical supplies to Johannesburg , and were picked up on Monday as arranged by email and was delivered to the recipient on Thursday morning , excellent service and the costs was half what other companies were using .

It was a very easy process to book collection of an item I bought on eBay to have it delivered to my house. Cheaper than booking direct with the provider. Will definitely recommend to friends and use again.

I selected Asendia for a delivery to Finland. On Monday 6th July I booked a collection for the following day. I was advised by the website that the parcel would be collected by YodeI. I waited in all day, and then when nobody came, I checked the tracking website, which showed "no one home -card left" - both untrue. It is impossible for a van to approach our house without it being seen, Email complaint to Parcel Monkey, who replied that collection re-booked for Thursday. I suspect that if I hadnt complained, Yodel would have turned up on Wednesday. My main problem however was that I dont feel that Parcel Monkey did anything about my real complaint, which was that the driver LIED about attempting to collect. Collection finally made on Thursday 9th July. Then advised on Monday 13th July that the parcel had arrived at Asendias depot in Hounslow. I check the tracking site regularly, and it had been updated twice, on 15th and 20th, both saying "Departed operations facility - in transit", no mention of where it actually is, and it hasnt yet arrived in Finland - THREE WEEKS after I first made the booking. Useless service and useless tracking information. Maybe Parcel Monkey are not directly to blame, but the shouldnt offer a company which provides such woeful service. If I had known that Yodel were to be involved, i would not have selected Asendia in the first place because I have had previous experiences with them failing to turn up, and recording a "not home" excuse on the tracking information.

I should have read reviews about this company before using them. Everything the bad reviews said happened to me. The collection did not happen at all (DPD) No phone number to contact anyone The phone number I did get in the end came from an online forum and the person that picked the call seemed surprised that I found the number. Refund was processed, hopefully I receive it. Poor service - will not be using to support my online Business.

i had a really bad experience with parcel monkey i booked my collection 3 days in advance for the 28th of july becouse was my only day off....the courier was no show and i lost all my day off waiting.... and the day after i had to cancel the order becouse was not anymore possible for me have the collection....now i m still waiting my money back from 1 week....poor service!!!!!!!better spend more money for a good service i think there is a reason why DPD is so cheap!!!!!

Very easy to use. Will use again, gives you a choice of couriers with best prices. I choose parcel force which was the cheapest but their service was not good. Failed to pick up my parcel twice & sent someone who could not speak English. Parcel Monkey much better service.

The service was excellent. I sent 3 boxes, of 30 kg each, from London to Venice. They came to pick up the boxes in time and they arrived in Italy in only 3 days. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone.
