The service was excellent and timing was spot on but i incurred extra charges abroad. But still the service was great could not complain and the timing was excellent aswell

Thanks very much for your 5 star review.
The "hidden charges abroad" would relate to customs duty imposed by the customs officers in the destination country. This is not a cost that is controlled or raised by Parcelmonkey Ltd or the courier selected by you when booking.

Parcel was collected on the day set and arrived at destination within a week. This was excellent as it travelled from Scotland to Brunei and had gone through customs. Delighted with Parcel Monkey.

This can only relate to your item being over 30kg which is the maximum allowed with ParcelForce.
The surcharge for exceeding this is made clear to all customers prior to booking and acknowledged as being read and understood. The charge is passed on to Parcelmonkey Ltd by ParcelForce Worldwide and subsequently passed on to the customer at fault.
While the charge may seem high it is not directly controlled by Parcelmonkey Ltd.
Website said same day collection, when confirmation finally arrived it was dated collection the following day. When a telephone call was made to query this a very abrupt lady tried to say the wrong option was selected. By 5 pm the following day the parcel still had not been collected and I was told someone had been and was turned away!!! When finally the parcel was collected 2 days later, the Parcel Force courier informed me that they had not been informed of the collection initially, so nobody had tried to collect the day before, and that the price I paid was more than if I had gone to them direct. Will not be sing Parcel Monkey in the future

Our Response: Hi Helen,
Whilst you order was placed moments before the same day collection window, it was not confirmed in time by ParcelForce which caused the same day collection to fail.
All customers are advised not to contact the couriers directly and instead raise any issues they have with us as we hold the account directly with the courier.
The ParcelForce courier is incorrect as ad hoc collections with ParcelForce are not provided to non account customers at rates that are lower than ours.
Please accept my personal apologies for the mix up by ParcelForce though and I am sorry to read you will not be trying us again in the future because of this.

they ask for a recipient phone number but wont call when get there, they should inform that the other side company wouldnt call anyway.

I use various couriers on a frequent basis. However, the combination of using ParcelMonkey and Parcelforce was my worst courier experience ever! As a result I would never use either again. I encountered a series of blunders by Parcelforce resulting in my parcel being delivered 7 days after the original collection date, despite selecting a 48hr service. Granted, Parcelmonkey were fairly quick to respond, but their responses were completely unhelpful, evasive and they repeatedly advised that they were conducting further investigations, but at no point did they relay what the outcome of these investigations were. Their avoidance tactics to accept any responsibility or answer simple questions I found to be extremely frustrating and time consuming, Therefore, myself and the recipient had to do all the chasing directly with parcelforce, as dealing with Parcelmonkey was like pulling teeth! I now am having to escalate the matter as I have been unable to receive a satisfactory response from them. Dreadful, dreadful 1st and LAST experience using them!

This is a major error on their part, and far from normal, which has resulted in us not being able to answer your questions clearly in regards to the items exact location and subsequent delivery time.

Good price, good service, parcel was delivered next day.
It would have helped us if the address of where we had to leave the parcel for collection by DPD had been put in full on your website and the Google pin had been in the correct place!
If it had said the corner shop in Sun Street I would not have wasted 15 minutes looking - a postman put me right in the end.

Great price quoted and easy checkout procedure. Turned up on the day with friendly courier and parcel arrived quickly to where I sent it to! Only downside not given a time slot to know when to expect and didnt recieve the follow up email until the day of pick up.

Great service, booking was easy, picked up quickly and quietly by driver, but the whole thing is needlessly let down by not being able to give any indication of time (not even morning or afternoon), and when I called I could only be told before 5.30pm. We shouldnt have to pay extra to find out a rough time.

I understand the frustration this can cause but many couriers offer a delivery window covering the whole working day.
DPD provide delivery windows of one hour, which is a big help, but most do not have this level of route optimisation in place yet unfortunately.
