Nevis is located on the Caribbean Sea and has a population just over 12,000. Nevis is an unspoilt area of the Caribbean which has led to the name 'Queen of the Caribees' being used to describe the island. The official language of Nevis is English and the islands currency is Eastern Caribbean Dollars. Nevis's economy like so many other islands in the Caribbean is dependent on tourism. The island is currently being developed with a variety of different plantation houses being restored and the iconic Four Seasons hotel being built. The island's climate is tropical, with long spells of sun and a rainy season during May to November.
