If you have a domestic parcel to send and it is essential that you use a drop-off service then it would seem that the domestic courier offered by Parcelforce may be the appropriate for many residents of York as you are able to drop off your parcel at the Parcelforce depot which can be found in Nether Poppleton which is about 4 miles from the city centre and just off the A1237 by the Bengal Brasserie and next to the train line on the Millfield Lane. You can also drop your parcel off at any of the Post Offices in York if you have booked a Parcelforce delivery to be sent abroad. Alternatively you can have your order collected from any address in York so long as a courier will be able to access it.

Simple system for international parcels. Unfortunately some of the courier companies used are not as efficient as others, but in future I’ll use Parcel Monkey but avoid the option of Parcel Force International, and use DPD who delivered a parcel to Germany in three days when Parcel Force took two weeks. That’s not Parcel Monkey’s fault, a d their service is superb. Highly recommended.
In fairess Parcel Monkey were OK (could do with a telephone number or a call back facility in this sort of case) but two weeks after I sent a parcel via DPD the receipent has still not received the goods. The delivery address was a business that is often manned 24/7 but DPD claim there was nobody there. They even had three failed delivery attempts at 00.01 (I think they were just box ticking) We even sent photos of the property just in case they got the wrong location still no joy. Lets hope they receive the parcel soon or they may as well keep the gift for next Christmas. Don
