Residents of Bedford who feel they are not in a position to wait in for a courier to collect from them have a wide variety of options when it comes to the alternative. If you live in Bedford and are able to make it out to either Milton Keynes, Cambridge or Welwyn Garden City then you can drop you parcels off at any of the Parcelforce depots listed in those towns and cities. You can do this after you have booked your parcel with the companies online using the 'send a parcel' link at the top of this page. This will allow you to specify where your parcel is to be delivered and how big it is. Based on the criteria you specify you will be given a range of available services. For instance, you can drop your parcel off at a Parcelforce depot if your parcel is being delivered within the UK or abroad.
You also have the opportunity to drop your parcel off at Post Office if your parcel is being delivered abroad and you have booked it online using the same form as above. There are twenty-three Post Office branches within 5.6 miles of the centre of Bedford and they include the one in the centre on St. Mary's Street and others on Greenhill Street, Kimbolton Road, Iddlesleigh Road, London Road, Goldington Road, Queen's Drive, Avon Drive, and many others.
The idea of the depot drop-offs is that that, given the extended opening hours that they should serve to be a flexible alternative for those that work in or around those locations. An example would be Milton Keynes where the two depots are to the east of the town and are easily accessible for people that either travel in on the A509 or the A421 or can find a spare ten minutes to drop their parcel in before they get into work or on the way home. These depots are also open on weekends so if you're popping into the Centre MK for your weekend shopping then these depots should also be of use.
The Post Office branches are another layer of convenience as you don't have to drop your parcels off at the branches in Bedfordshire; you can also drop them off at a branch closest to where you work or near friends and family.

Comments from customers who have sent parcels from Bedford.
Great experience, parcel arrived before expedited on my international parcel. Would highly recommend!
Mostly positive with a few irritations loading customs info..
Good website and choice of carriers, sent two parcels one arrived next day but the other took 36 hours longer, disappointed with the carrier (DPD), no comms for the parcel that arrived on time but a message re the one that arrived late. Not cheap to use but convenient and both parcels ultimately arrived.
