In addition to this we have our own brand Air Express courier service, Parcel Monkey Air Express who deliver in 3-5 days for a much lower price than the direct DHL service. The Republic of Burundi has had a very interesting recent past having been colonised by the Germans and Belgians and then a United Nations Trust Territory after World War II. In recent years the country has been suffered greatly, most noticeably in an economic sense, and is now considered to be one of the poorest nations on the continent of Africa.
90% of agricultural output is subsistence farming whilst the nation is almost exclusively dependent on coffee for its export revenues. Thankfully Burundi does have deposits of platinum, copper, nickel, cobalt, and uranium should it wish to exploit those resources to increase the standard of living of its inhabitants.
The landlocked nature of the country, being surrounded by Rwanda, Tanzania and the Democratic Republic of Congo, certainly doesn't help with exports, given that many countries on the shores of the Indian Ocean and the Atlantic are able to make use of sea shipping.
Of course, before you can send parcels, or anything else, into Burundi you will have to check for import restrictions. Part IX of this document details the rules pertaining to the importation of goods via 'registered couriers'. You can find more information at the Office Burundals des Recettes website.
We also advise to ensure your box is correctly packaged and that you check your item is not listed as prohibited on the Parcel Monkey list.
