Austria is another landlocked country in Europe with Switzerland, Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovakia, Liechtenstein, and Italy at its border.
Austria has a rich history with country changing hands numerous times in since it but that hasn't hindered it too much in becoming the thirteenth richest country in the world by GDP behind Ireland and ahead of Finland. And because it is so developed and integrated into the world's economy we, as a nation, do a fair amount of trade with it - which has certainly contributed to us helping our customers send many thousands of parcels to Austria each year.
Here are some examples of prices to send a parcel to Austria. We have many options, so for a personalised quote please enter the weight of your item into the quote box below.
Austria is well located for transport links, so transit times are great. Customers who have purchased online expect items to arrive quickly and that they can track the parcel until it arrives. Luckily, we have tracked courier services and a range of service levels so you can ensure your item is shipped fast, or if you are on a budget, it can be sent for a great price.
Other than using our new tracked mail service, eTrak, the cheapest way to send a parcel to Austria is with DPD, and you can choose to either have a parcel collected from home or work address or to drop off at a local DPD Pickup shop. Transit times to Austria are quick with DPD and you can expect the package to be delivered in around 3 days.
The advantage of a DPD Pickup service from the shops is that it allows you to package and book your parcel in your own time such as in the evening or drop it off over the weekend. Our discounted offering via DPD which allows you to drop off your parcel to over 2,500 independent shops, large stores & petrol stations.
We offer express courier delivery to Austria using Parcel Monkey Air Express or DHL. Parcel Monkey Air Express is considerably cheaper than a DHL direct service, with the only difference being DHL do not collect the parcel from you, another premium courier does and this means a delay of 1 day on the shipping time. This service is often around £10 cheaper than booking DHL through our quote engine and so is the choice of many of our customers.
We also offer express delivery using Road services, which are still quickly sent to Austria due to the great transport links there are into Europe. Afterall, Vienna, the capital of Austria, is just 931 miles from London!
We offer postal couriers to Austria often chosen when a package is more heavy or urgent. We use TrakPak who offer global mail delivery to Austria for a great price. We also offer a selection of by Road couriers, to keep the cost of moving heavy boxes low.
For many of our customers, they like to use Parcelforce as you can have your parcel collected or you can book a drop off service and take your item to the Post Office - but by booking online and printing the labels at home you can save considerable amounts on the price of postage.
You can send up to 30kg with Parcelforce for a great price, so big and bulky boxes are cheap to send to Austria.
Before you send a parcel to Austria, it's advisable to check the item you're sending isn't prohibited from import. You can find information on this from the Federal Ministry Republic of Austria Finance. Please also check the prohibited items list provided by our courier partners, as this includes items which are not permitted to travel via our courier partner networks.
From January 1st, 2021 you will need to provide a customs declaration when you send a parcel to Austria from the UK. This is due to Brexit and the UK no longer being part of the EU.
The good news is, when you send a parcel to Austria with Parcel Monkey, we'll guide you through the customs documentation during the booking process. We'll ask you a few questions about the items you're sending, then provide you with a completed customs declaration to print and attach to your parcel.
No problems parcel delivered on time in good condition
Just Grand.!
Great service as ever from those Parcel Monkeys. Many thanks+++++
As always theres a good selection of couriers available. The guidance on what documentations needs to be provided is excellent. My only gripe is with Brexit which has made sending the same type of packages we sent to family abroad every year for 10 years disproportionately complex and expensive.
I sent a parcel of Christmas gifts to Austria, which is the first time Ive sent anything there since Brexit. The website had good, clear information on the new customs rules, unlike some of their competitors. Although its a faff looking up all the HS codes (nothing to do with Parcel Monkey) the web form to enter the package contents was well laid out and easy to use. For a large, 5kg package it cost just under £20 which I thought was very good. Another 19 EUR was charged at the destination (thanks Boris) so overall not too bad. The estimated delivery time was 3-4 days. It took 7 but given its December and with covid I thought this was very good and the tracking worked all the way.
Easy to use, except if you send a parcel to Europe… trying to find a customs number to describe the contents is a long winded puzzle. Thought I found a reasonable parcel provider, but the person at the other end does still have to pay additional fees. Otherwise I can recommend parcelmonkey.
Excellent website and very easy to use
Website easy to use especially around customs form as parcels of household items going to Austria were not easy to sort. Excellent prices. DPD collected in hour specified. Good tracking options. Parcel arrived in promised 5 days. Very happy
