The Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe is an independent island nation in the Gulf of Guinea and is the second smallest African nation by population with just 163,000 inhabitants. 98% of the people who reside there speak Portugese, whilst the country is made up of two main islands and is surrounded by smaller islets.
The economy is heavily dependent on plantation agriculture with roughly a third of the exports being of cocoa beans in their various forms. Curiously, despite cocoa being a volume export for the islands, Claudio Corallo is widely noted as one of the producers of some of the finest chocolate in the world - despite being of a rustic nature. Other parts of the economy are largely based on other forms of agriculture whilst the islands also have a small industrial market.
As you may expect, with São Tomé and Príncipe being a fairly distant, remote group of islands there isn't a frequent courier service. As a result, you can typically expect DHL Air Express to deliver about six full days from a collection, whilst our own service typically takes a week or more.
All the courier services to São Tomé and Príncipe come with full tracking and if you are sending something valuable there, we also offer protection cover.
