Send a parcel to Moldova

The Republic of Moldova is essentially a landlocked country, apart from a few metres of a border long the Dunarea river along the Giurgiulesti International Free Port between Ukraine and Romania. The country is located at the edge of Eastern Europe and obviously laid behind what was called the "iron curtain". On independence Moldova claimed the borders of the old Soviet Republic and implemented a degree of decentralisation. Over the past 15 years or so this has led to less of a reliance on heavy industry and a greater shift towards the service sector. Trade has also increased and today the UK has important economic links to the country - with the resultant impact on the flow of goods via international couriers.
