The official name for the former Portuguese colony that occupies the eastern-most area of the South-East Asian island of Timor is the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste - which also includes the islands of Oecusse, Jaco, Atauro and an exclave within West Timor.
Most of the economy is focused on the production of petroleum products such as oil and gases, whilst a significant proportion is involved in the production of roasted coffee. Although much of the population is recorded as being below the international poverty line, it still has a noticeable manufacturing base about a fifth of its exports coming from the manufacture of heavy machinery, telephones and motor parts.
Despite being geographically close to the industrial powerhouse that is Indonesia, it still has a fairly lengthy delivery time at between six and seven days for Parcel Monkey Air Express and five to six full days with DHL's international offering.
