The Republic of Benin used to be called Dahomey and relatively small country in West Africa surrounded by Togo, Burkina Faso, Niger and Nigeria. Unlike many other countries in the region, Benin is largely dependent on subsistence farming which is causing issues given that the population has been increasing rapidly in recent years. Their solution has been to attract foreign investment into the country.
Benin's main exports are cotton, oils, palm products and cocoa whilst they import mostly foodstuffs, tobacco and petroleum products.

In recent years the Benin authorities have made considerable investments in the nation's infrastructure and this additional spend on roads and airports have certainly helped the speed at which couriers can deliver parcels, where today you can expect a parcel to be delivered on a two day service via DHL Air Express or three to four days via Parcel Monkey Air Express.
The prices, however, are much the same as the other African countries where you could expect to pay £33 for our own service and £65 for a light parcel via DHL.
If you are shipping a parcel to Porto-Novo the capital, shipping times will be quicker as opposed to sending a parcel to a more remote area.
Should you need to contact the local Customs Service, perhaps to confirm whether any items you intend to import into the country aren't prohibited, you can do so at the following address:

You should be particularly aware of sending any items that may "affect public morality". You may also be required to send two copies of a commercial invoice, two copies of the certificate of origin, a packing list and a bill of landing and two copies of a pro forma invoice.
As Benin is a French-speaking nation, there is every chance you may want to be shipping from France so we can help you do this via www.parcelmonkey.fr
Good service - polite pick up. Will definitely use again. Customs on delivery charged for used goods.
great service, quick delivery
Parcel arrived to poland within the correct time frame. All present and correct.
The whole experience was quite good from making the booking, collection of parcel and tracking service. The only downfall is that on the booking form, delivery was quoted as 5 - 7 days, it actually took 12 days which still isn’t bad when shipping to Australia, but why they don’t state this up front I don’t know.
Quick delivery - parcel in good condition. Communication to recipient very good regarding delivery times
Excellent value for money service cant fault it
