Heavy & Large Item Service 30kg - 500kg picked up and delivered from just £7.89 We have launched a new service with NightFreight and it's perfect for sending large parcels or items with irregular dimensions that are heavy which most other carriers could not transport. Collected and delivered within the UK from just £7.89+vat How does it work and what are the restrictions? You can book this service online and will need to print shipping labels. You can send items which have a maximum weight of 500kg's. If your items are particularly heavy or awkward to lift you may need to assist the driver. Any item sent through this new service must be accessible. For example if you live in a block of flats, please bring the heavy item downstairs as we do not expect drivers to carry heavy items up or down stairs/lifts or long distances. But I've got some incredibly heavy items to transport within the UK - can you help?
We certainly can do. With our same day parcel delivery service, you have the opportunity to have your items transported throughout the UK - the same day - up to 100kg in combined weight. 

With this service you can book a 15 minute time slot for your items to be collected - day or not, and even on a Saturday or Sunday. This is a premium service, so prices are going to be higher than our heavy, one man team, service via Nightfreight, but if you need items moving quickly such as if you're moving home, having DIY purchases delivered, or needing some exhibition stands shipped to the venue, then this could be a reasonable service for you.

Who do I get to do the delivery?
That's entirely up to you. It's simply a case of filling out the form above and getting a list of prices if a next working day service is required, or the same day form if you need an urgent delivery or up to 1000kg in weight or 2.5m in length. 

What can I have delivered?
We do have a list of prohibited items that you should always read through if you're going to send a parcel, but we've successfully shipped a wide variety of items such as cookers, boilers, bed frames, sofas, snooker tables, roof racks, gym equipment, car axels, gearboxes, golf clubs and dining tables - amongst other heavy items.

What about international delivery of heavy items?

The prices for sending very heavy parcels abroad are understandably very much different than sending within the UK. It would simply be a case of doing a quote using the form above and then reviewing the prices. 

If you are sending a large and heavy parcel within mainland Europe then we do offer a road service with ParcelForce which is very competitive so make sure you look at for that in the list of available services.

How do I send very large items via a courier?
Firstly the most important piece of advice is to make sure that you choose a courier capable of doing the shipping for you. When you place the weight into the quote form it's important that you give correct information as we'll use that to automatically select a range of couriers able fulfil your order. 

It's also important to note that some very heavy items may require assistance at the destination address to bring the item from the lorry/van to your doorstep. You should be notified of this during the booking process.

Also, as with any parcel, it's crucial that it's protected for the journey - perhaps more so with large, bulky or heavy items as there is often more weight and pressure against the packaging from within. 

What about if I need to send a heavy parcel to Ireland?
We can help you with that. However, instead of being transported by Nightfreight, it is likely that your item will be collected and delivered by DHL. You would typically have the choice of a 1 day air service or a road service over 2 days.

We can also deliver to Northern Ireland via DHL, but also via Nighfreight. A 35kg parcel measuring 50cm cubed would cost in the region of £14.25+vat to deliver.
