Useful information for sending a parcel to Switzerland
Interestingly Switzerland is neither a member of the EU or the European Economic Area and despite that fact, they're one of the most competitive and innovative countries in the world (according to the World Economic Forum and the EU.
As Switzerland aren't part of the EU, you'll need a commercial invoice to be placed on the parcel, we've created a template for your benefit which you can download
here (pdf).
Also VAT (they call it TVA) is due on imported goods at the rate of 7.6%, although there are some exceptions.
For some reason you are not allowed to import radar detectors and there are some import controls on precious metals, watches and jewellery. To view the latest information we suggest you visit the
Swiss Federal Customs Administration website.
At just approximately 650 miles by road from London the DHL Road Express courier service is the cheapest and, at the time of writing, costs just £14.49 for a three day service. For £3 more you could have a delivery via DHL Air Express usually within one day from collection.
We also offer a Road Express service with Parcelforce which is currently just £17.67 for delivery to Zurich, Geneva, Basel, Lausanne, Bern, Lucerne, St. Gallen, Lugano, Winterthur, Thurn, Olten-Sofingen, Biel and Chur - amongst other towns and cities.
