Belarus is a former Soviet state which is highlighted by the nature of the countries which surround it, namely: Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania and Latvia. Furthermore the vast majority of the nation's trade remains with Russia whilst much of the rest originates from the rest of Europe.

Although Belarus is part of continental Europe it isn't a member of the European Union and able to make use of the reduced restrictions on trade - although it does have a number of trading agreements with various individual governments within Europe.

Commerce with Belarus hasn't traditionally been the most simplistic of occupations due to the levels of bureaucracy compared to nations within the EU. We therefore suggest that you read the information on the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Belarus website - especially the section regarding limitations, pro forma invoices (pdf). Within that information they list items that cannot be shipped via international mail into the country, and all of those items (at the time of writing) are also restricted by our own prohibitions.
