Despite being a former colony of the United Kingdom in 1964, becoming a republic in 1974 only 1.3% of the population are British - 95.3% being Maltese. Another fact that many people may not be aware of is that Malta is a member of the European Union having joined in 2004 and signing up to the Lisbon Treaty in 2007. As such, there are no extra barriers to trade within the EU and hence there are no non-regular import regulations that one should be aware of if you're looking to send a parcel to Malta. However, for future reference, you may have issues sending dish antennas, cordless and mobile phones and air band receivers or transmitters if you intend to import them from outside of the EU.
