Am I allowed to send computer components via a courier and how much does it cost?
Yes you can, and the price depends on the volumetric weight of the parcel.
We have a very comprehensive list of prohibited items as well as a list of items that we can help you send via a courier but on a non-compensation basis - and at the time of writing that list doesn’t contain any reference to computer parts such as PC cases, coolers, CPUs, hard drives, HDD controllers, switches, memory cards, motherboards, power supplies, soundcards or speakers. Although we do have restrictions on notebooks and tablet PCs.
Just with any item that is delicate we strongly recommend that you reduce the chances of damage in transit to an absolute minimum by packaging the components with cushion pack padding, bubble wrap a sturdy box etc.
We suggest that you take a photo of the item before and after you've protected it just to be on the safe side too.
We've had tens of thousands of happy customers in the past, but often the cause of any issues we've encountered have been due to inappropriately packaged items in flimsy boxes with no, or minimal protection. If you're selling a used item on eBay you may not have the original packaging, but please do find an alternative.
We have sent a great number of parcels containing computer parts to countries such as Spain and Ireland, but even if you're only sending your parcel within the UK over a short distance the requirement for adequate protection is just the same.
If you, unfortunately, have had an item arrive damaged we do have a expedient resolution service to help you make a claim against the cover purchased on booking.
